Paul De Bois - After leaving college, Paul started his commercial career in photography with unlikely employers, the Ministry of Defence. Here, amongst other skills, he gained valuable experience in darkroom techniques and processes, an interest which has always stayed with him.
On leaving the Ministry, wishing to spread his wings, he joined Haymarket Publishing as a staff photographer, working across their consumer titles, including What Car? and New Health.
Since going freelance ten years ago, his work has spanned a wide variety of fields including work for PR companies, motor manufacturers and major consumer publishers such as BBC Worldwide and IPC Magazines on their wide portfolio of titles, including Top Gear, Later and New Eden.
He also has a particular interest in reviving historic photographic processes such as gum bichromate, kaliotype, bromoil and cyanotype printing, which are particularly suited to natural subjects such as landscapes and flowers.
